SUMMARY:Inclusive education and environmental justice: unpacking inequality\, power\, lessons and emergency contexts
DESCRIPTION:The issues of inclusive education and climate change/environmental protection are intrinsically linked. In this presentation\, I will unpick some of the connections. When we dig into the root causes\, we see that the exclusion of learners from and within education is largely driven by discrimination and inequality. Discrimination and inequality are\, in turn\, the results of individuals and systems prioritizing their desire for power over others (for instance\, in the form of status\, wealth\, and controlling access to resources and decision-making) rather than supporting the empowerment of everyone. The same power-based drivers of inequality that divide and suppress education opportunities also drive the destruction of our environment. Those of us working to promote inclusive education and address climate change are striving to change the attitudes and behaviours of a shared foe. My presentation will draw on current examples\, primarily in conflict and emergency contexts\, to summarise key connections between the denial of educational rights for all and the destruction of the environment. I will illustrate why we cannot work on one in isolation of the other.\n\nRegister here >

SUMMARY:Live Web Event: A Conversation About one School’s Inspirational Project to Transform Language Learning
DESCRIPTION:Engaged Learning (by L’École branchée) is thrilled to invite you to another inspiring VIP live Zoom event in English! \nJoin us on Tuesday\, December 10\, from 12:00–12:45 pm EST for A Conversation About one School’s Inspirational Project to Transform Language Learning \nNicole from Engaged Learning will host this session\, featuring special guest Sarah Anne Leroux\, an English teacher at École secondaire catholique régionale de Hawkesbury (ESCRH) in Ontario. It also highlighted an important message —educators worldwide\, from Canada to Morocco and beyond\, share a common commitment to their students’ well-being. \nDon’t miss this opportunity to explore how innovative projects like this can inspire and unite students across the globe. Bring your lunch\, tune in\, and join us for an engaging conversation! \n✏️ Click here to register!
