This article draws inspiration from LEARN Québec’s April 2026 newsletter, A Bittersweet Milestone for LEARN’s Digital Learning Journey, especially the CEO Message of the Month by Christine Truesdale.
After more than 20 years of dedicated service, the RÉCIT Provincial service for the anglophone community has reached the conclusion of its mandate. While this marks the end of a significant chapter, it also offers an opportunity to reflect on the lasting impact of this work across Québec’s education system.
Throughout these two decades, LEARN’s Pedagogical Services team, working closely alongside RÉCIT partners, has played a vital role in supporting educators and students in developing digital competency and integrating technology in meaningful, pedagogically sound ways. Together, they have helped build a strong, collaborative network grounded in shared expertise, innovation, and professional learning.
This important contribution was recently recognized at the 2026 AQUOPS Conference, where the team and its RÉCIT MST (Math, Science & Technology) colleagues were honoured with a Coup de cœur award—a testament to the collective dedication and influence of this community.
While the Ministry’s mandate has concluded, the spirit of this network continues. As digital environments and emerging technologies like AI evolve, LEARN remains committed to supporting the anglophone education community and ensuring equitable access to resources, expertise, and opportunities for growth.
To conclude, a quote from Christine Truesdale in her CEO message of the month:
“A network is not defined by a mandate. It lives on through the people, the relationships, and the shared commitment to students”.
