Member of the Abitibiwinni First Nation, he was born in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Samian is an artist with many talents. Whether it is photography, music or cinematography, nothing stops him when it comes to promoting the beauty of his culture. He actually started his own record company called Nikamo Musik – Nikamo means “sing” in Algonquin.
This record company was “precisely founded to allow him to keep control over all stages of his musical career.” He also explains: “and because all the experience that I have acquired, I want it to be used by others. I want to explain to young artists what it means to produce records.” – SAMIAN

As part of his quest for a better recognition of the First Nations’ culture, the artist also shared a music video, named “Genocide, which honours the victims of the tragedy of Kamloops’ boarding schools.
“We are amazed at how far this can go. What we found in British Columbia was the tip of an iceberg. It’s a legal carnage, not punishable. No one is responsible for all this, who will be punished? ” -Samian
