👀 The Context

The third Monday of January is known as Martin Luther King Jr. Day (MLK Day). In 2022, it was on January 17th. Martin Luther King Jr. is known for his non-violent activism against racial discrimination in the 1960s. It is through marches, civil disobedience and other pacific activities, as well as support  from  influential people such as Rosa Park, that he managed to rally millions of people to the cause. In 1963, he uttered the I Have a Dream speech, which made history. Then, in 1964, he was awarded the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize, making him the youngest person to receive this honour.

Unfortunately, he was assassinated in 1968. To this day, his message still resonates across the world and inspires people from all walks of life.
